A study of the light and colour of an ivy-clad tree overhanging the landscape around the hilltop village of Monte dei Bianchi in Tuscany. I painted in the sky and then dropped in lemon yellow wet-in-wet over the area of the tree which mixed to a vivid pale green. This warmer yellow foliage also contrasts with the relatively greyer plants of the middle distance.
Painted in watercolour on Arches paper (which has a textured surface). Painted to the edge of the paper. Sold without mat/mount or frame.
