The marvellous architecture of the cathedral in Lucca which greets you if you arrive by train and then walk over the city wall nearby. It looks particularly spectacular against an intense blue sky which was the case for my latest visit. I painted it in quite a loose style which gives the painting a fresh, spontaneous feel. I also like the complementary blue and orange colours. Painted in watercolour on Arches paper (which has a textured surface). Painted to the edge of the paper. Sold without mat/mount or frame.
